1984 sequels keep coming. It would seem that the year 1984 has for some reason been one of those years that just sticks out. Tigers win the World Series. (thats for me) Ghostbusters was released, Wacko Jacko's
Thriller was released. There was also a little film about a furry little cute Mogwai who if you get him wet turns into a bunch of Mogwai. Then if you feed them after midnight, well all hell will break loose on your
lil small town. I just hope that in the 3rd installment of the Gremlins franchise we see Gizmo still in the Red Rambo Bandana. So yes, as I am sure you have all figured out Gremlins 3 is in Development.
Much like the new ghostbusters film it will be in 3D. So I ask you guys, is it time to see little green monsters back on the big screen? Maybe have Hulk Hogan yell at them again when they mess up the reel?
Guy Ritchie leaving the LOBO project. After the success of the Robert Downey started and Golden Globe winning film Sherlock Holmes. Richie has pulled out of the LOBO project to direct the Sequel that has been fast tracked
by hollywood mega producer Joel Silver. With the 380+M that Holmes has already made it has pushed up the new project. Richie pulls out of LOBO for Holmes? good? bad? ugly? Could care less?

Sundance Film festival is underway. I do happen to know someone who is attending the event. I am looking forward to hearing his picks for the movies to see. So I know what not to see, B/C he has crappy taste in movies.
For those who don't know Sundace was started by Robert Redford as a way that Indy movie makers can have a chance at getting noticed. Much like everything else that started out for the INDY world it's been taken over by Hollywood.
Now Big name film companies will use Sundance to launch there projects. Still IDNY heavy, but hollywood's hand is there. The one film I really wanna see out of Sundance is the
Doc film I'm Pat____Tillman, who left the NFL to fight in Afghanistan after 9/11 and who was killed in 2003. Then a few years later it turned out he was killed by friendly fire.
Then the movie Douchebag. Just for the name. I don't even care what it's about.
Some of the Sundace films don't have distribution yet and are looking at sundance for that.
There is the URL to see a list of all the films that are playing this year.

Screw Onion Rings! Can i Get a Beer with That?

Fret not, Whopper lovers, you will soon have your beer and drink it too.

In some of the best news since they added onion rings to their menu, Miami-based Burger King has

announced it plans on pairing its value meals with beer at a soon-to-open South Beach "Whopper Bar."

The Whopper and a beer combos won't be available in regular Burger Kings, and they'll run you a bit

more than one with a soda. The meal will be $7.99, two bucks more than the regular meal deal.

Opening in February, the South Beach Whopper Bar will sell the same bargain burgers and fries, paired

with a Budweiser instead of soft drink, and more Whopper Bars could be coming to New York,

Los Angeles and Las Vegas, according to USA Today.

Crabby customer slugs Ohio grocery clerk

Police say a man in Ohio

got so upset over a mistake on the price of crab cakes

that he punched a grocery store manager several times

and spit in his face.

Authorities in Sandusky arrested

61-year-old Ralph Barr on charges of assault and criminal damaging.

Police said the store made a mistake in the price of crab cakes

and offered to sell the first pound at a discounted price

but the rest at the correct price.

The store manager said he was punched five or six times and head-butted.

Barr told police that the manager hit him with a price gun,

but witnesses said the manager didn't fight back.

A message seeking comment was left Wednesday at Barr's home.

Cypriot police charge mum after boy racer car chase

NICOSIA (Reuters) –

Cypriot police who pursued a car

speeding at more than twice the legal limit

were surprised to discover they really were chasing a "boy racer."

The 12-year-old driver --

who hit speeds up to 110 km (68 miles) per hour in a 50 km zone

-- ignored police warnings to stop and almost knocked down a policewoman.

The under-aged driver also stormed through a traffic circle (roundabout)

in the wrong direction, creating havoc for oncoming motorists

in a scene worthy of a Hollywood action film.

His mother has been charged with failing to properly secure her vehicle,

but the long arm of the law fell short of a conviction

for the child because of his age.

"He cannot be charged because he is a minor," a police spokesman said.

Italian teen stabs father over a PlayStation game

ROME (Reuters) –

An Italian man

who argued with his son over Sony PlayStation tactics

was recovering in a hospital on Monday

after the teenager stabbed him in the neck

with a 15-inch kitchen knife, police and hospital officials said.

The man, identified as Fabrizio R.,

suffered a deep cut to the throat after his 16-year-old son, Mario,

attacked him during an argument on Sunday

over the soccer video game FIFA 2009.

Police said the argument broke out when the 46-year-old storekeeper

offered his son advice on tactics to improve his play,

and then turned the television off in response to his son's behavior.

Fetching a knife from the kitchen,

Mario stabbed his father in the neck

before returning to clean the weapon at the kitchen sink

in front of his mother and leaving it to dry on the draining-board.

Forty-six year-old housewife Monica B,.

told Italian daily Il Corriere della Sera that she had no idea what had happened

until her husband stumbled into the room, clutching his throat.

"I saw Mario come back into the room, he seemed calm,

he went to the sink and I noticed him washing a knife," Monica told the newspaper.

"Then my husband came into the room with a hand round his neck, dripping blood."

The teenager shut himself in his bedroom

after the attack and made no attempt to resist arrest, police said.

The game had been given to Mario a few days earlier, as a birthday present.

"Mario is obsessed. He's forever playing on his PlayStation,

and we bought him FIFA 2009 because we didn't want him playing violent games,

" his mother told Il Corriere.

Human "bed-warmers" at Holiday Inn

LONDON (Reuters) –

International hotel chain Holiday Inn

is offering a trial human bed-warming service

at three hotels in Britain this month.

If requested, a willing staff-member

at two of the chain's London hotels

and one in the northern English city of Manchester

will dress in an all-in-one fleece sleeper suit

before slipping between the sheets.

"The new Holiday Inn bed warmers service is a bit like having

a giant hot water bottle in your bed,

" Holiday Inn spokeswoman Jane Bednall said in an emailed statement to Reuters.

The bed-warmer is equipped with a thermometer

to measure the bed's required temperature of 20 degrees Celsius (68 Fahrenheit).

Holiday Inn said the warmer would be fully dressed

and leave the bed before the guest occupied it.

They could not confirm if the warmer would shower first,

but said hair would be covered.

Florence Eavis, Holiday Inn spokeswoman told Reuters

that the "innovative" bed-warming method

was a response to Britain's recent cold weather

and marked the launch of 3,200 new Holiday Inns worldwide.

She could not explain why the beds were not being warmed

by hot water bottles or electric-blankets, but admitted the human method was quirky.

Holiday Inn are promoting the service with the help of sleep-expert Chris Idzikowski,

director of the Edinburgh Sleep Center, who said the idea could help people sleep.

"There's plenty of scientific evidence to show that sleep starts at the beginning

of the night when body temperature starts to drop,

" he said. "A warm bed - approximately 20 to 24 Celsius -

is a good way to start this process whereas a cold bed would inhibit sleep."
