Water powered jetpack comes to fruition

Jet-Lev's water-powered jetpacks are defying the skeptics and on their way to becoming

a reality for lake-going flight enthusiasts. The pack works with jets & controls attached

to the user with a flexible hose that tethers the jetpacker(?) to the propulsion system which follows behind. Flight looks awesome and Jet-Lev is accepting orders it's debut 155 HP model this April. Just in time for summer. engadget (go to YouTube link & check it out in HD)

God of War 3 trailer rears it's pasty white face
The God of War 3 extended trailer dropped on Friday expanding on footage shown at the Spike TV Video Game Awards in December. The new footage zooming away from the action at the end to show just where Kratos is fighting. The footage not only shows how impressive the in-game rendering looks with Kratos & Co. on a next-gen system but it also infuriates Hiller that he'll have to seek out a PlayStation 3 to play this exclusive title. joystiq

Simpsons goes HD/changes title sequence

Ignoring the fact that the intro to The Simpsons changes 3 times per episode (chalkboard,

Lisa sax solo & couch gag) the intro to the show hasn't budged since the show debut in 1989.

Sunday's episode marked the first HD episode and along with that came a new title sequence

with updated HD visuals and gags to boot. Although Homer screaming at the end was my favorite part of the original intro (it has been changed) the new HD intro reflects some of the many changes in the long running show. youtube

Tales of the Black Freighter comes to DVD/Blu-Ray

With all the buzz over Watchmen reaching fever pitch fans of the series are biting

at anything related to the beloved comic-turned-movie. Warner Bros is releasing the Tales of the Black Freighter mini story from the Watchmen graphic novel along with Under the Hood on DVD & Blu-Ray. Tales of the Black Freighter is presented in grisly animation with the unfortunate narrator voiced by Gerard Butler (lots of actor nepotism going on with this Zach Snyder guy). See the trailer at

Transformers 2 trailer makes stuff asplode!
The new Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen trailer has been found around the internets. Same deal as before; big robots fall to Earth as meteorites (conveniently hitting only the small fraction of populated portions of the planet) and then proceed to fuck up everything that Michael Bay can stick a detonation device in. All while somehow involving Shia LeBouf & Megan Fox. Check out the shaky hand camera on YouTube before it gets yanked.

Suspect trips over his pants while fleeing police

PENSACOLA — Authorities said a burglary suspect was literally caught

with his pants down while trying to run away. A deputy responded to

an alarm at a convenient store early Tuesday morning and reported

seeing a 37-year-old man exiting through a smashed-out front door while

carrying several packs of cigarettes.

Deputies said the man tried to flee, but the handfuls of cigarettes

prevented him from holding up his pants,

which fell down and tripped him before he could make it out of the parking lot.

The man was charged with criminal mischief,

burglary, theft and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was being held on $12,000 bail.

Woman uses wedgie to capture suspected thief

SALT LAKE CITY — It took a wedgie and a headlock

to pin down a man suspected of breaking into a car.

Yvonne Morris, a technician at the Brickyard Animal Hospital,

said she chased a man who broke into a co-worker's car,

but he kept squirming away from her.

Morris eventually grabbed the man's boxer shorts and pulled.

Salt Lake City police said she then she put a headlock on the man until help could arrive.

The man was booked into the Salt Lake County jail on suspicion of vehicle burglary,

possession of stolen property and outstanding warrants.
