Spring Breakers fear technology

You see, years ago, before Facebook and Myspace and AOL chatrooms and Prodigy, college students lived on the edge. It was all about wet t-shirt contests and drunken pool sex and squeezing in time to do breast milk shots straight out of a stranger’s nipple. In one word, it was heaven.
Today’s spring breakers — at least some of them — say they have been tamed, in part, not by parents or colleges or the fed-up cities they invade, but by the hand-held gizmos they hold dearest and the fear of being betrayed by an unsavory, unsanctioned photo or video popping up on Facebook or YouTube.
Since social media doesn’t look like it’s going anywhere anytime soon, then we know what’s next. Students doing community service spring break trips and helping other people. Because we all know Cancun 2012 Baby doesn’t look too hot on a Linkedin profile. Nor do filthy, filthy things.
Way to go social media. As usual, you ruin everything!

Mass Effect 3
The big news this week is the Internet is pissed with the ending of Mass Effect 3.

First Trailer Released For Tell Tale Games’ “The Walking

Dead” Video Game

The first trailer for Tell Tale Games’ “The Walking Dead” video game was just released and… it didn’t really show that much. On the upside, the interview that followed did give us some big details on the game.
During the interview, here’s what the game’s writer, Garry Whitta, had to say:
1. The game will be based on the comic book, not the TV show.
2. It will be a far more liberal adaptation on the universe than the TV show.
3. Still in Atlanta.
4. No Rick Grimes.
5. New group of survivors is a disparate group of strangers… just like in the comic.
5. Glenn will make an appearance in the first episode.
6. Main character is Lee - A convicted murderer on the way to jail when the zombie apocalypse breaks out.
7. The game will be released in episodes that get increasingly more challenging, bleak and suspenseful like an actual TV or comic series.
8. The rating of the game will be a “Hard M”
9. The first episode is set for release in April.
The Trailer begins at the 9:00 mark.

21 Jump street review:
Damn funny with a couple cool cameo’s. Worth seeing. $36.3M opening weekend will take a huge hit next weekend. When no one will be seeing anything other then Hunger Games.

Predictions on how much HG’s will make?? I’m predicting $110M

Trailer for Dark Shadows is out. Really?? I no longer have respect for Depp or Burton. It looks so damn stupid!! So Stupid I won’t even add a link the the abortion of a trailer.

Redbull Stratos is attempting to break a 50 skydive jump

The mission, Red Bull Stratos, will take renowned athlete Felix Baumgartner to at least 120,000 feet above the earth, to the very edge of Space.

From there, he will attempt a stratospheric free fall jump - the longest in the history of man - and hopefully will become the first human to break the speed of sound with his own body.

This is a mission to overcome limits which have existed for almost fifty years, ever since the heroic achievement of the young US Air Force test pilot, Joe Kittinger, with his 1960 Excelsior mission.

Red Bull Stratos will attempt to make history and deliver valuable learnings for medical and scientific advancement that will aid the exploration of space in future years.

Texting woman falls into lake

ST. JOSEPH, Mich., March 20 (UPI) -- Authorities in Michigan said they pulled a 45-year-old woman out of Lake Michigan after she fell off a pier while text messaging.

St. Joseph police said Bonnie Miller of Benton Harbor was text messaging on her phone and was not carefully watching where she was walking when she fell Monday from the South Pier in St. Joseph, WOOD-TV, Grand Rapids, reported Tuesday.

Police arrived on the scene around 9:30 p.m. and saw Miller in the water with Rebecca Van Zant of Mishawaka, Ind., who had jumped into the lake to help Miller.

25,000 bees swarm car

BRIGHTON, Tenn., March 20 (UPI) -- A Tennessee couple said they left home for four hours and returned to find an estimated 25,000 bees swarming around their 2011 Chevrolet Traverse.
Tommy and Cristi Hill of Brighton said they left the Chevy at home while they went out to eat and shop Saturday and returned to find the bees swarming under the hood and over the windshield of the vehicle, The (Memphis) Commercial Appeal reported Tuesday.

The Hills said they do not want to kill the bees, so they tried strategies including driving the vehicle 60 to 65 mph down U.S. 51 and taking the Chevy through a car wash.
The couple said the bees returned each time.
Local beekeeper Bill Hughes said he tried to lure the bees into hives loaded in the back of his pickup truck, but "they've decided that car is their home."

Hughes estimated there are 25,000 bees swarming the car and a queen bee can lay up to 2,000 eggs per day.
The beekeeper told the couple to scare the bees off with a garden hose after dark and then park the car at least half a mile away.
"There's no telling what they'll do," Hughes said. He said the insects may just wait in a nearby tree for the Chevy to return.

Stolen bike left with note signed 'Drunk'

ASPEN, Colo., March 20 (UPI) -- A Colorado man said he has his stolen bicycle back after the thief left it at a courthouse with a note signed "Drunk."

Jay Maytin of Aspen said the bicycle he received as a gift in 1999 was missing for less than 24 hours when he saw a newspaper article describing a bike that had been left Friday at the Pitkin County Courthouse and turned over to Aspen Police, The Aspen Times reported Tuesday.

"Sorry. I stole this bike. I rode it home. Please give it back -- Drunk," the note accompanying the bike read.

"I knew a drunk took it because it doesn't have much of a re-sale value," Maytin said. However, he said, "to me it's worth $500. It's transportation."

Maytin said he would not have pressed charges against the thief.

"All I wanted was my bike back," he said.

Weatherman cooler than a 'cyborg unicorn'

AUSTIN, Texas, March 20 (UPI) -- A Texas fourth-grader's thank-you note to a weatherman who spoke to his class told the man he was cooler than a tuxedo-clad monkey riding a "cyborg unicorn."

Albert Ramon, morning weathercaster for KVUE-TV, Austin, Texas, said students in a fourth-grade class wrote him thank-you letters for speaking to them about his job and the most imaginative letter came from a boy named Flint, ABC News reported Tuesday.

"You're more awesome than a monkey wearing a tuxedo made out bacon riding a cyborg unicorn with a lightsaber for the horn on the tip of a space shuttle closing in on Mars while ingulfed in flames … And in case you didn't know, that's pretty dang sweet," a portion of the letter reads, with Flint's original spelling.
Ramon said the letter, which included an illustration on the back, has been viewed more than 350,000 times since he posted it on Web site Imgur.
"I'm blown away how fast this has gone viral," Ramon said on his Twitter account.

836 ninja turtles gather in Minnesota

BLOOMINGTON, Minn., March 20 (UPI) -- Guinness World Records said 836 visitors to the Nickelodeon Universe theme park in Minnesota set a record by dressing as the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

Guinness said the Saturday gathering, which was organized to celebrate the opening of the new Shell Shock ride at the Bloomington theme park and the upcoming premiere of a new Nickelodeon animated series starring the turtles, beat the previous record of 786 people dressed as the heroes in a half-shell at Rutgers University.

The park provided colored face masks and "TMNT" T-shirts for the participants, but many attendees came garbed in their own elaborate costumes themed after their favorite of the four crime-fighting turtles.
The participants included a Girl Scout troop and a group of mall-walking seniors, Guinness said.
